All activities were sent to each family via email. If you are having any trouble with the activities, questions, or are having trouble locating them, please reach out! As always, thank you for all the support at home. Remember to lean into what feels right for your kiddos during this time! We are here to support you from home! :)
Hello to all of our first grade friends and families,
We love hearing from all of our students. This week we sent out emails checking in with families. We were so happy to hear back from so many of our students / families. We love sharing resources so that your children continue to learn and grow. However, we know this is a stressful time for everyone. We know that learning happens in many different ways. Please continue to do what works best for your family. We have been attaching papers / activity sheets to our weekly letters. We realize not everyone has access to a printer. If you do not have access to a printer you can copy the picture by drawing it yourself with paper and pencil. Many parents have been sharing pictures of great learning that has been happening at home. This has inspired us to start an optional weekly challenge. Weekly Challenge #1 Find a fun way to practice your trick words. Snap a picture and send it to us. We will share pictures next week in our weekly letter. Here are a few ideas:
As always, feel free to email us with questions, comments and /or feedback. Take care, stay safe! Love, Mrs. Caprio Mrs. Creedon and Ms. Mansfield Hello to all of our first grade friends and families,
We can’t believe another week has gone by. We miss seeing all of your smiling faces! Below please find our second weekly grade one - home / school learning community letter. We love hearing from all of our students! Please continue to send emails, pictures, and letters; they make our days brighter. This week we reached out to families with an email about an optional opportunity for families to share information in order for our students to be able to facetime one another. We were happy to see so many families share information so that their children can “socialize” with their friends. If you have not shared information feel free to share anytime. We hope that the weekly activities we send home are helpful. Our goal is to provide resources and activities that are familiar, engaging and developmentally appropriate for our students. Please feel free to email us with questions, comments and /or feedback. Take care, stay healthy and keep smiling!!! Love, Mrs. Caprio Mrs. Creedon and Ms. Mansfield Hello to all of our first grade friends and families,
We hope you are all doing well. As promised, we are sending out our first weekly grade one - home / school learning community letter (below). We are sure all of you are finding the resources on the Rockland Public Schools website very helpful. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. We are so proud of the work our "firsties" have done this year. They have become strong readers, writers, and mathematicians. It is our hope that the ideas we are sending along will help your children to retain what they have learned as well as help them to continue to grow and learn. We know how active our firsties are so hopefully our friends can get outside and get some exercise every day. As you know, our young learners also thrive on doing puzzles, playing games, singing, dancing, building, using play-doh, drawing, listening to music, and by noticing and wondering about the world around them. As first grade teachers we know that all of this is just as important as learning to read and write and solve math problems, so enjoy all of these wonderful things with your children. If your child enjoys the resources from the district, have him/ her continue to do that. If your child enjoys the activities we sent along, then have him / her do that. If your child learns best by learning through games and time together, have him / her continue to do that. Please remember that these are ideas / resources. None of these things are required. We have included our addresses below, we would love to hear from your amazing children.
